GreenShelf

GreenShelf looks to provide a microgreen growing system equipped with LED light bars and a watering system that can be located anywhere in a room, kitchen, or closet. Our product utilizes vertical farming technology to provide a product that allows the user to have a continuous source of microgreens. Utilizing a technology similar to LEGO, we hope to construct a stackable product, such that a customer can have multiple systems growing various types of high nutritional value microgreens. GreenShelf looks to provide the future of sustainable and environmentally conscious farming, with the goal of eliminating large transportation costs, pollution and focusing on bringing fresh produce into food deserts.

By creating a product that does not require sunlight, soil, or time, we can hopefully allow low-income individuals to have continuous access to fresh food. In addition, the current markets for hydroponic and vertical farming products are expanding rapidly because the amount of farming land continues to decrease every year. In addition, as the topsoil of farms continues to be eroded from unsustainable practices, the global population continues to rise.
