Father Joe's Villages
Challenge Overview
As San Diego's largest homeless services provider, Father Joe’s Villages faced challenges in connecting with clients due to encampment bans. Outreach workers struggled to locate and maintain consistent contact with clients, hindering care and support. The i4X project focused on developing innovative solutions that enabled outreach workers and clients to stay connected despite the heightened transitory nature of homelessness. Students worked on developing a platform that allows workers to reliably locate clients, facilitating regular contact and building trust. The ultimate goal is to ensure that essential services, such as follow-up medical care and mental health support, are effectively provided, improving the health outcomes and overall well-being of people experiencing homelessness.
