School of Young Entrepreneurs (SofYE)

For the past few years, we’ve been partnering with The School of Young Entrepreneurs (SofYE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to host their two-week summer program, one week of which is at UC San Diego. The program is designed to provide students with practical experience in business planning, financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

At the heart of the program is the annual SofYE Summer Experience, which offers middle school students an exciting opportunity to develop real-world entrepreneurial skills while exploring how they can contribute to the community and make a difference. SofYE, the flagship program of the Warren-Walker Promise Foundation, focuses on under-resourced students, who might otherwise not have this opportunity. During their time at UC San Diego, student participants get exposed to and engage with UC San Diego’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, learn new innovative tools and connect with student entrepreneurs.

Current sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students can find program schedules, details and financial assistance information on the School of Young Entrepreneurs website. The school also welcomes inquiries about mentoring, guest speaking and community partnerships.
