PriceSmart
Challenge Overview
The PriceSmart team aimed to identify innovative, accessible remittance solutions for communities that rely on sending money internationally. Students explored the limitations of existing remittance systems, including high costs, access barriers, and reliance on traditional banking infrastructure. They conducted research to identify U.S.-based communities aligned with PriceSmart’s international markets and evaluated potential retail partners that could support alternative remittance models. The project included a market analysis, partnership recommendations, and a targeted marketing strategy to reach key audiences. The proposed solutions support PriceSmart’s mission by expanding financial access, reducing costs, and providing more flexible and trustworthy options for its members.
