Cortexa

Cortexa is developing a patented adaptive exoskin for proactive protection of the human central nervous system (CNS). Designed to conform from the cervical through lumbar spine, the system uses bio-inspired adhesion and embedded biosensing to continuously monitor biomechanical and physiological signals.

Built in response to rising rates of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries—particularly among young, active populations—Cortexa integrates seamlessly into existing protective gear to enable earlier risk detection and injury prevention rather than post-injury response. The project is currently being developed under interdisciplinary mentorship in neuroscience, bioengineering, and emergency medicine, with a focus on translating prevention-first neurotechnology into real-world impact.
