Symmyo

Symmyo builds a personalized rehabilitation platform that helps patients relearn correct muscle coordination, not just reduce pain. Using lightweight surface EMG sensors placed on key muscles, we capture muscle activation during functional movements and compute left–right asymmetry to identify which muscles are underperforming or compensating. Our algorithm maps those imbalances to targeted exercises and stretching, giving patients clear at-home guidance while keeping therapists in the loop for in-person care. We start with people recovering from stroke and common orthopedic or traumatic injuries, where recovery outcomes vary widely and therapist time is limited. By adding objective muscle-assessment data and adaptive recommendations, Symmyo aims to improve adherence and accelerate meaningful recovery, helping patients move with the right muscles again.
